Curious about Holistic Chiropractic Care ?
Here is some useful information to help you on your wellness journey.

At Chiropractic Healing Touch, our mission is to support Austin residents in achieving optimal health. Our primary focus is enhancing the function of your nervous system, allowing your body to reach its fullest healing potential.

Spinal misalignments can disrupt the connection between your brain and body, affecting internal organs and systems, slowing down healing, and increasing the risk of various health issues. Dr. Jocelyne Vo, D.C., is skilled in pinpointing spinal misalignments and providing precise adjustments to relieve nerve pressure, fostering natural recovery and overall wellness.

What is Chiropractic?

Holistic chiropractic care is a natural approach to health that focuses on aligning the spine and supporting the nervous system to boost overall wellness.

Through gentle, hands-on adjustments, holistic chiropractors help relieve pain, reduce tension, and improve mobility, supporting your body’s ability to heal and function at its best.

Healing is a Journey

Healing is a Journey •

1

Relief

Many patients consult with a chiropractor because they are in pain. In this first phase of care, the goal is pain relief and restoration of structure and function. Most of our patients will see a significant reduction in their symptoms but this is only the beginning of how chiropractic can benefit you.

Even though every case is different, treatment during this phase usually requires 1-6 weeks of care.

2

Stabilization

It is typical for the pain to start increasing again as a patient resumes their normal activities. This happens because the condition hasn’t fully stabilized yet. Even after your symptoms have faded, you must continue receiving care to avoid a rapid return of symptoms.

This stage of your treatment normally requires another 4–8 weeks of treatment including simple postural correction exercises.

3

Maintenance

Chiropractic is designed to optimize your health and prevent degeneration.  By integrating chiropractic care into your routine, you minimize aches and pains, improve the longevity of your joints, and engage in more activities you enjoy.

We see wellness patients approximately every 2-4 weeks. It is common to see wellness patients after unusual activities like traveling, camping, or remodeling a bathroom.

FAQs

  • A popping or clicking sound is typical during a chiropractic adjustment. Joint cavitation, the name for this sound, is caused by pressure being released from a specific joint.

24-48 hours after treatment, soreness is common, but you shouldn’t experience greater pain during or after the treatment.

  • Depending on the condition, a variable number and frequency of sessions are recommended. More visits could be required if the condition has remained untreated for a long time.

During the first sessions, treatments are often more passive. Then it progresses to more active therapies like active strengthening and rehabilitation.

  • No, they typically don’t hurt. When performed by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, adjustments are safe. Depending on the area adjusted and the pressure used, adjustments may be uncomfortable.

  • Headaches, slight tightness, and soreness are some of the side effects. They are temporary and of moderate intensity. Soreness results from the muscles, tendons, and ligaments having to adapt their form to the corrected alignment.

We usually recommend ice/heat following therapy if needed. Any post-treatment pain often only lasts for the first couple of visits.
